Jeden z najprestížnejších golfových turnajov pre hráčov v kategórii U14 sa aj tento rok 16. -18. septembra sa hral v Evian Resort Golf Club (par 71, 5805 m) vo Francúzsku. O Nations Cup, ktorý obhajuje USA, bojovalo 20 tímov štvorčlenných tímov a medzi nimi aj Slovensko, ktoré reprezentovali dvaja hráči (Martin Biak, Ondrej Vaňo) a dve hráčky (Tereza Hájková, Zoey Sophia Pápay). O individuálne tituly bojovalo 40 chlapcov a 40 dievčat a Zoey Sophia Pápay patrila k najmladším.

Už prvý hrací deň priniesol zaujímavé súboje a výborný golf v podaní talentovaných hráčov. Po prvom kole sa priebežne Zoey Sophia Pápay umiestnila na 29. mieste, keď si zapísala +15/86 (4 pary, 13 bogey, 1 doublebogey). Podala solídny výkon ale nevedela sa vysporiadať s rýchlymi a zvlnenými greenmi, čo ju pripravilo o lepšie umiestnenie. V 2. kole sa Zoey Sopia zlepšila, zapísala si +11/82 (1 birdie, 7 parov, 8 bogey, 2 doublebogey) a priebežne jej patrilo 30. miesto (+26/168). V 3. (záverečnom) kole zopakovala výkon z druhého hracieho dňa +11/82 (1 birdie, 8 parov, 6 bogey, 3 doublebogey) a z celkovým skóre +37/250 sa posunula na konečné 26. miesto, ktoré je prísľubom do ďalších rokov, nakoľko Zoey Sophia vzhľadom ku svojmu veku bude mať možnosť zúčastniť sa Amundi Evian Juniors Cupu ešte 2 krát.

Tretím hracím dňom sa skončil 17. ročník prestížneho Amundi Evian Juniors Cup 2025, kde sa predstavila špička svetového mládežníckeho golfu do 14 rokov.

Tím USA (+3) obhájil prvenstvo v Nations Cup-e, druhé skončilo Španielsko (+10) a tretie miesto vybojovalo Japonsko (+12). Tím Slovenska napokon skončil na 15. mieste (+83). Pozitívom pre Zoey Sophiu Pápay bolo, že jej výsledok sa každý hrací deň počítal do tímovej súťaže (3 najlepšie výsledky).

Zoey Sophia a všetci slovenskí reprezentanti skvele reprezentovali slovenský mládežnícky golf a na náročnom ihrisku Champion Course ukázali bojovného ducha. Sme presvedčení že Zoey Sophia využije získané skúsenosti v budúcom roku, svojim výkonom pomôže tímu posunúť sa bližšie ku svetovej špičke a v individuálnej súťaži bude atakovať popredné umiestnenia.

One of the most prestigious golf tournaments for players in the U14 category was played again this year on September 16-18 at the Evian Resort Golf Club (par 71, 5805 m) in France. 20 teams of four competed for the Nations Cup, which is being defended by the USA, including Slovakia, represented by two players (Martin Biak, Ondrej Vano) and two players (Tereza Hajkova, Zoey Sophia Papay). 40 boys and 40 girls competed for the individual titles, and Zoey Sophia Papay was one of the youngest.

The first day of play brought interesting battles and excellent golf played by talented players. After the first round, Zoey Sophia Papay was ranked 29th overall, scoring +15/86 (4 pars, 13 bogeys, 1 double bogey). She put in a solid performance but couldn't handle the fast and undulating greens, which cost her a better finish. In the 2nd round, Zoey Sophia improved, recording +11/82 (1 birdie, 7 pars, 8 bogeys, 2 double bogeys) and was in 30th place (+26/168). In the 3rd (final) round, she repeated her performance from the second day of play +11/82 (1 birdie, 8 pars, 6 bogeys, 3 double bogeys) and with a total score of +37/250 moved to the final 26th place, which is a promise for the coming years, as Zoey Sophia will have the opportunity to participate in the Amundi Evian Juniors Cup 2 more times due to her age.

The third day of play ended the 17th edition of the prestigious Amundi Evian Juniors Cup 2025, where the top of the world's youth golf under 14 years of age presented themselves.

Team USA (+3) defended the championship in the Nations Cup, Spain (+10) finished second and Japan (+12) won third place. The Slovak team finally finished in 15th place (+83). A positive for Zoey Sophia Papay was that her result counted towards the team competition every playing day (3 best results).

Zoey Sophia and all Slovak representatives represented Slovak youth golf brilliantly and showed fighting spirit on the challenging Champion Course. We are convinced that Zoey Sophia will use the experience gained next year, her performance will help the team move closer to the world's top and in the individual competition she will attack the top positions.
