Za tropického počasia, keď teploty atakovali 40 stupňov sa v Taliansku začal jubilejný 10. ročník Venice Open 2024, poriadaný U.S.Kids Golf Tour. Celkovo cez 370 chlapcov a dievčat vo veku 5-18 rokov bude počas trojdňového šampionátu bojovať na ihriskách Montecchia, Galzignano a Frasssnelle. V kategórii dievčat do 11 rokov v štartovnom poli nechýba ani reprezentantka Slovenska a dvojnásobná víťazka tohto podujatia Zoey Sophia Pápay.V prvom kole na ihrisku Golf Della Montecchia, ktoré má 27 jamiek a patrí medzi popredné golfové ihriská v Európe, keďže hostilo niekoľko podujatí Challenge Tour, Zoey Sophia predviedla solídny výkon, ale prílišná snaha o čo najlepší výsledok viedla k ľahkým chybám, hlavne pri krátkej hre. S celkovým skóre +7/79 (11 parov, 7 bogey) je priebežne na 4. mieste.Skóre po 1. kole jej však dáva šancu na posun dopredu a tak držíme Zoey Sophii palce, aby sa jej v dalších kolách darilo lepšie.

The jubilee 10th Venice Open 2024 has begunIn tropical weather, when temperatures reached 40
degrees, the jubilee 10th edition of the Venice Open 2024, organized by the U.S.Kids Golf Tour, began in Italy. A total of over 370 boys and girls aged 5-18 will compete on the Montecchia, Galzignano and
Frasssnelle fields during the three-day championship. In the category of girls up to 11 years of age, the
Slovak representative and two-time winner of this event Zoey Sophia Papay cannot be missing.
In the first round at the 27-hole Golf Della Montecchia course, which is one of the premier golf
courses in Europe as it has hosted several Challenge Tour events, Zoey Sophia put in a solid performance,
but too much effort to get the best result led to some easy mistakes, especially on the short the game. With
a total score of +7/79 (11 pars, 7 bogeys), she is currently in 4th place. However, the score after the 1st round gives her a chance to advance, so we keep our fingers crossed for Zoey Sophia that she does better in the next rounds.
