V záverečnom kole U.S.Kids Golf World Championship sa dokázala Zoey Sophie opäť zlepšiť a poskočila o 9 miest na konečné 42. miesto (+27/243). Progres našej reprezentantky dokumentujú jednotlivé kolá (87-79-77). Tretie kolo bolo náročné, veľa síl už neostalo a aj slnečné počasie ich každou jamkou uberalo viac a viac. Iba 4 hráčky zahrali pod par. Zoey Sophie patrila medzi tie lepšie, iba 26 golfistiek si v poslednom kole zapísalo nižšie skóre ako slovenská reprezentantka. Veľkú pochvalu si zaslúži za svoju bojovnosť a nezlomné srdce, pretože dnes jej šťastena vôbec nepriala. V prvej polovicu nepremenila štyri a v druhej dva krátke paty a keď k tomu ešte prirátame po dve dvojchyby na 16. a 18. jamke, tak výsledok mohol byť úplne iný!Ale pekne po poriadku. Posledný deň šampionátu začínala Zoey Sophie popoludní a začala ho parom. Potom nasledovali spomínané štyri nepremenené krátke paty, ktoré testovali jej odolnosť, z čoho si zapísala 3 bogey a 1 par. Chytila sa parom na 6. jamke a za svoju bojovnosť bola odmenená birdie na jamke č. 7 a ďalším dvomi parmi na jamkách č. 8. a č. 9., čím si v prvej polovice zapísala skóre +2. Druhú polovicu začala slovenská hráčka bogey, nasledovalo 5 parov. Na posledných troch jamkách to už bolo hop alebo trop: bogey-par-bogey, čím si zapísala celkové skóre +5/77.Zoey Sophie na svetovom šampionáte určite nestratila, nevzdávala sa a bojovala až do poslednej loptičky! Škoda trochu nevydareného 1. kola, strata na Top 30 bola iba 6 rán.Zoey Sophii gratulujeme a ďakujeme za reprezentáciu slovenského golfu na najvýznamnejšom a najväčšom svetovom podujatí vekových kategórií 5 - 12 rokov.Naša golfistka sa rozhodne v silnej konkurencii nestratila, dokázala sa zlepšovať z kola na kolo, potvrdila svoj nesporný talent a to, že aj vo svetovom porovnaní patrí vo svojej kategórii k najlepším. ZOEY SOPHIE, ešte raz veľké ĎAKUJEME.
In the final round of the U.S.Kids Golf World Championship, Zoey Sophie managed to improve again and jumped 9 places to the final 42nd (+27/243). The progress of our representative is documented by individual rounds (87-79-77). The third round was difficult, there was not much strength left and the sunny weather took even more and more of it away with each hole. Only 4 players played under par. Zoey Sophie was among the better ones, only 26 female golfers recorded a lower score than the Slovakian representative in the last round. She deserves a lot of praise for her fighting spirit and unbreakable heart, because today luck was not at all on her side. In the first half, she didn't convert four and in the second half two short pars, and if we add to that two double faults on the 16th and 18th holes, the result could have been completely different!
But it's fine. Zoey Sophie started the last day of the championship in the afternoon and started it with steam. Then followed the mentioned four unconverted short holes that tested her resistance, from which she recorded 3 bogeys and 1 par. She made a par on the 6th hole and was rewarded for her fighting spirit with a birdie on hole no. 7 and another two pars on holes no. 8. and no. 9., thus recording a score of +2 in the first half. The Slovak player started the second half with a bogey, followed by 5 pars. It was bogey-par-bogey on the last three holes, and she recorded a total score of +5/77.
Zoey Sophie certainly did not lose at the World Championship, she did not give up and fought until the last ball! It's a pity that the 1st round was a bit unsuccessful, the loss in the Top 30 was only 6 shots.
We congratulate and thank Zoey Sophia for representing Slovak golf at the most important and largest world event for the age categories 5-12 years.
Our golfer was definitely not lost in the strong competition, she was able to improve from round to round, she confirmed her indisputable talent and the fact that even in the world comparison she belongs to the best in her category. ZOEY SOPHIA, THANK YOU so much again.
